Kicker ROS Rankings and Power Rankings – Week 10 Update – Metric Based

Having fun with these, so I’m going to continue them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or the community. Hoping this continues to provide a landing spot for anyone wanting to discuss kickers!

Notes

Siebert, WAS – The opportunities for Seibert just keep coming. The Washington offense is here to stay and will continue to give ample opportunity to score. His lowest points in a game so far this season is 9.

Boswell, PIT – While this seems obvious, he should be rostered (only 40% rostered currently). Boswell is now past his bye and may be available in some leagues if the owner decided to drop him last week.

Moody, SF – I’m using Moody for ROS rankings. If he misses this week, I’ll only be updating the weekly projections. The 49ers produce top 5 opportunities for their kickers, it’s just a matter of capitalizing.

Aubery, DAL – With the injury to Dak Prescott there is uncertainty to how the team will move the ball. Luckily, Aubrey has the best leg in football and is accurate from any range, so he’s in range more often than other kickers.

Fairbairn, HOU – With a great seasonal and playoff SOS, his consistency should continue and be an asset to have on your team. Only downside is his bye is Week 14. If you’re fighting for a playoff spot you may have a decision to make that week.

Tucker, BAL – Don’t look now, but Tucker has been skyrocketing up the board. Ranking 6th in PPG among active kickers, he should continue to produce top 10 numbers ROS. His schedule is on the harder side, but with the way Baltimore is moving the ball, he should still see great opportunities. The Ravens rank 1st in RZ TD%, so that limits his short distance FGs a bit.

ROS Rankings

I use the same stats I use for weekly projections to create these ranks. I create an adjustment % based on rankings of the remaining defenses the kicker is facing and do a weighted average to project their ROS Rank.

  • Kicker Individual Fantasy Points Per Game
  • Opposing Defense Points Allowed Per Game
  • Opposing Defense Kicker Fantasy Points Against Per Game
  • Opposing Defense Extra Points Attempts Per Game
  • Opposing Defense Field Goals Attempts Per Game
  • Opposing Defense Red Zone TD % (LOW=more FG attempts)

Notes

Byes: Players with * have had their bye weeks.

Week 10 byes: Brandon McManus, GB; Daniel Carlson, LV; Dustin Hopkins, CLE; Jason Myers, SEA

Drop: Younghoe Koo, ATL. His last 3 weekly finishes are 27th, 22nd, and 26th. Outside of two blowup weeks (weeks 4 and 5) he hasn’t finished higher than 9th in weekly scoring, with 6/7 of those weeks 14 or lower. He did have a huge week against New Orleans last time with 20 points, so this may be the last week to hang onto him.

Add: Jake Moody, SF. Coming off bye/injury, he looks to be available in 53% of leagues. I’d take a look as SF has a top 3 opportunity rank so far this season.

Keep An Eye On: Will Reichard, MIN. If the owner in your league decides to drop him based on last week, add him.

SOS ranking: 1=best, 32=worst

Kicker POWER RANKINGS

These are the stats that go into these rankings. I’ve added in player specific XP% and FG% this week (typically just used team versions of this). With some kickers being injured and players losing their jobs, I had to find a way to include this. It also balances out the rank a bit more as we don’t want a previous kicker’s stats to dramatically affect the new kickers ranks.

  • Fantasy PPG
  • Player 50+ Field Goal Makes
  • Player FG%
  • Player XP%
  • Team FG Attempts
  • Team XP Attempts
  • Team Kicking Points
  • Team Points Per Field Goal Attempt
  • Team Points Per Game
  • RZ TD% (looking for low % to increase FG attempts)
  • RZ Attempts

Notes:

Biggest Riser: Tyler Bass, BUF (+9)

Biggest Faller: Cameron Dicker, LAC (-8)

Notable Riser: Justin Tucker, BAL (+5)
